Fix for Windows Update breaking Payware PC

Many of our customers have reported that Payware PC has stopped working for them. As you may already know, Verifone has ended support for Payware PC and will not provide support for the product. They offer an online processing gateway called Payware Connect that moves the processing software off your computer to their gateway.

While Verifone is no longer supporting Payware PC, we have been able to determine that the recent rash of Payware PC failures is due to a Microsoft Windows Security Update that was pushed out this week. Removing this update from your server computer will allow Payware PC to continue to function.

These instructions apply to Windows 7 machines, which appear to be the only operating system affected by this issue.

To uninstall the patch, click your start button, select "Run", and then enter this command:

wusa /uninstall /kb:3142024

You will be required to reboot your computer.
